about a month ago i started taking adderall from a friend who gets a script for ADD. I took it at first just to see what it would do because most of what i heard was good, even from doctors. I am 17 and regularly smoke pot (regularly means ALOT) and in the past 6 months started doing other drugs that I could find easily such as painkillers and hallucinogens.

I am very smart and I know the risk of this and i see that I am not going in the right direction but if you have ever done this you realize that even if you understand it is bad you get caught up in it anyway. I used to keep my social life away from my family but recently my mom has found out about my pot use and thinks that I might be doing harder drugs, now she is worried(i understand) and has signed me up with counselors and care managers…(you know the usual that teenagers hate) my father has a history of extreme alcoholism and this worry my parents even more.

I myself have some mental issues that i deal with, being the oldest brother of my 4 siblings gives me much responsibility and I take on even more because my dad doesn’t live with us. being as my dad has so many issues that are genetically passed on such as depression, I feel like I regularly get depressed but have never been treated. Also my parents divorce happened when I was very young, so my younger siblings dont even remember it. my brothers and sister grew up with my parents always apart but I feel like this is one thing that always can get me depressed(**** now i am sad)

Okay back to my adderall question. Given my lifestyle I am wondering if this is something I should ask my counselor or doctor about. This is my last year in high school and I am applied to college for the upcoming fall my grades have never been great due to lack of motivation blah blah blah, i take honors classes and i get Bs in them because i dont want to put in work but taking adderall helps motivate me, get rid of my random onsets of depression. Also taking adderall gets rid of the desire to abuse drugs. after taking it for about a week I noticed I stopped smoking pot and didn’t even
notice.(along with the pot went the harder drugs too)

I feel like looking into adderall is more of a lifestyle decision based on how my life goes.
I know that adderall is a dangerous drug in itself and I have over dosed on it while partying and know its effects. I have taking it many different ways and I realized that I like just taking it by mouth like it is supposed to be taken and them i am happy and focused for majority of the day.

When doing drugs you always want more, but adderall doesnt leave me wanting more and I feel like it could be a good way to get away from drugs and focus on schoolwork. I havent mentioned this to anyone yet because i feel like everyone who knows me will think it is just another substance that I want to start abusing but I think it might have some benefits and this is why I am asking.

-i forgot to write this up top but also I have tried to stop smoking pot and other drugs but I felt depressed, and i had 1000x nervous energy that I just couldnt handle. I couldnt do anything that required me to do something mellow for more than 5 minutes.
-Also due to my dads alcoholism I have always done my best not to drink. I have gotten a pretty good grasp on drinking and I have reached the point where i can be in a house full of people drinking and i dont feel any urge at all.(granted i will be doing something else)
i know that taking meds that arent mine is illegal, but that obviously wasnt an issue for me seeing as i have taken presctiption narcotics to get high many times.

but all drugs are prescribed for a reason and i just want to know if I have a valid reason for taking it.

I have a diagnosis for bipolar and after tring about 20 different meds with full side effects and not one not to mention heleped me at all., my dr recomended that. I used to hear all this bad stuff about it. but i have to say that its the only thing thats helping me now. synthetic meds didn’t help at all but increase problems. Now my wife and i can live together unlike before because i dont scream at her for un important issues like i used to do. just flip a switch because somebody said something u dont like… Now with medical marijuana helps me think before i act. i dont get panic attacks any more. im happy. i don’t have mood swings. My wife said she loves me the other day. If i stop smoking i will just turn back into that shaitan i used to be… So it seems to work fine for me and not distract me from my deen and normal routine. I dont have much choice. other so called halal meds made me just feel worse.

I thought the point of something being haram is if it is bringing harm to you. And no marijuana does not cause lung cancer. read that here –

I asked her why, and how she knew I did drugs.

And she looked me in the eye telling me that it was pretty obvious from the way I act, and dress. She has also seen me talking to a few stoners she has talked to, but the weird thing is, she’s never done the same for any of the stoners she knows. She tells me that smoking is bad, and that she is healthier than me.

I’ve never talked or had a important conversation with her, but I was conversating with one of her friends, and I saw her looking at me interested.

A few times this year, I saw her staring at me, or having a glimpse at me.

The weird thing is she’s different from all the girls in NY.

As for her knowing I skip school, I always hang around the hallways and I guess she sees me. My question is why would she tell me that? What would benefit her from telling me stuff like that?

And would she be someone that I should ask a number from, so I could get to know her more?

Maricopa County was spending approx. $18 million dollars a year on stray animals, like cats and dogs. Sheriff Joe offered to take the department over, and the County Supervisors said okay.

The animal shelters are now all staffed and operated by prisoners. They feed and care for the strays. Every animal in his care is taken out and walked twice daily. He now has prisoners who are experts in animal nutrition and behavior. They give great classes for anyone who’d like to adopt an animal. He has literally taken stray dogs off the street, given them to the care of prisoners, and had them place in dog shows.

The best part? His budget for the entire department is now under $3 million. Teresa and I adopted a Weimaraner from a Maricopa County shelter two years ago. He was neutered, and current on all shots, in great health, and even had a microchip inserted the day we got him. Cost us $78.

The prisoners get the benefit of about $0.28 an hour for working, but most would work for free, just to be out of their cells for the day. Most of his budget is for utilities, building maintenance, etc. He pays the prisoners out of the fees collected for adopted animals.

I have long wondered when the rest of the country would take a look at the way he runs the jail system, and copy some of his ideas. He has a huge farm, donated to the county years ago, where inmates can work, and they grow most of their own fresh vegetables and food, doing all the work and harvesting by hand.

He has a pretty good sized hog farm, which provides meat, and fertilizer. It fertilizes the Christmas tree nursery, where prisoners work, and you can buy a living Christmas tree for $6 – $8 for the Holidays, and plant it later. We have six trees in our yard from the Prison.

Yup, he was reelected last year with 83% of the vote.
Now he’s in trouble with the ACLU again. He painted all his buses and vehicles with a mural, that has a special hotline phone number painted on it, where you can call and report suspected illegal aliens. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement wasn’t doing enough in his eyes, so he had 40 deputies trained specifically for enforcing immigration laws, started up his hotline, and bought 4 new buses just for hauling folks back to the border He’s kind of a ‘Git-R Dun’ kind of Sheriff.
